EDITORIAL
- Senior Staff Writer (Bangalore)
You will have 10-15 years of experience, with a significant part of that in journalism, preferably writing business features. At The Ken, you will write deeply reported stories around technology entrepreneurship and startups, and newer areas as and when The Ken expands.
You will also work with staff writers to help ideate, anchor and edit their stories to make them more compelling reads.
You will have an enviable rolodex of sources and a long byline of frequently published stories. You will be comfortable with technology and software tools that make it easier to collaborate around and create better stories for our subscribers.
- Staff Writer (Mumbai, Delhi)
You have at least 5 years, most of which as a business journalist. You should have written on one or more of the following topics – technology, telecom, policy, entrepreneurship and startups in the past. You will be brimming with ideas around interesting new companies, trends and people that deserve to be written and read about.
The Ken places great emphasis on original and deep reporting, so a great connect with the ecosystem and sources will be an added advantage, if not a pre-requisite. We are looking for someone who can write sharp, analytical stories without sacrificing narrative.
- Staff Writer, Healthcare & Pharma (Bangalore, Mumbai)
You will have at least 5-8 years of experience covering and understanding healthcare holistically – from public policy to pharmaceuticals to care providers. Our stories will require interviewing and meeting policy makers, governments, hospitals, pharma companies and citizens. We require a self-driven journalist who is on top of news and developments and enjoys writing sharply reported and analytical stories.
MARKETING
- Marketing Manager (Bangalore)
You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in marketing in an Internet, software or media startup. You understand The Ken’s product, positioning, subscriber profile and marketing levers innately. You will be responsible for running marketing campaigns end-to-end that expose The Ken’s journalism to more audiences and drive long term subscriptions.
You are “digitally native” and know your way around the various tools required to run a modern digital marketing operation – analytics, CRM, email campaigns etc. In addition, you are self-driven, sharp and always pay attention to detail.
SUBSCRIBER EXPERIENCE
- Customer Experience Manager (Bangalore)
You will have at least 3 years of experience, ideally in an environment where you were exposed to and responsible for customer support, retention and loyalty. We will give preference to candidates who can demonstrate real-life examples of work done by them, including where possible, with references.
You will be sharp, curious, open-minded, nimble and self-driven.
You will manage everything related to our enviable and growing community of readers and subscribers. You realize the centrality of a great community to our editorial vision and are already brimming with ideas on how to make that happen.
