EDITORIAL
Staff Writer, Pharma, Healthcare & Science (Delhi)
The ideal candidate would be someone with at least 5-6 years of experience and understands (or at least is keen to understand) healthcare holistically – from public policy to pharmaceuticals to care providers. Our stories will require interviewing and meeting people in a range of government departments and private companies. We require a self-driven journalist who is on top of news and developments in the national capital and enjoys writing sharply reported and analytical stories. The candidate will also work in close association with the editorial team in Bengaluru and Mumbai.
Staff Writer, Technology & Startups (Delhi)
The ideal candidate should have experience of at least 4-5 years and should have written on technology and startups. We want writers who are excited by the rapid pace of innovation and disruption in this space. And want to be the ones chronicling it first-hand. We place emphasis on reporting, so a great connect with the ecosystem and sources will be an added advantage, if not a pre-requisite. We are looking for someone who can write sharp, analytical stories without sacrificing narrative.
MARKETING
Marketing Manager (or Growth Hacker, if you prefer)
You will “own” as many of our marketing-related tasks as you can handle. Business development, partnerships, digital marketing, corporate plans, influencer marketing…need we go on? Okay, let’s throw in growth hacking too! You will have at least 3 years of high-impact, hands-on experience in a marketing role for a digital product. You are self-driven, sharp and always pay attention to detail. You’re “digitally native” and know your way around the various tools required to run a modern digital marketing operation – analytics, CRM, SEO etc. This role is based in Bengaluru.
Customer, Community and Social Media Manager (aka Master Stoker of our Growth Engines)
You will manage everything related to our wonderful and supportive community of readers and subscribers. From communicating with them, whether to get their feedback or to help fix some issue they’re facing; to managing our social media strategy with class, humility and pluck (ha!); to building our community of readers & subscribers into a class of its own. You are great at writing original copy and love great editorial products with attitude (bonus points if you’re already one of our readers). You realize the centrality of a great community to our editorial vision and are already brimming with ideas on how to make that happen. You’ve got at least 2 years of hands-on, demonstrable experience in similar roles already. This role is based in Bengaluru.
ENGINEERING
Web Developer (or, the full-stack web guru)
HTML, Javascript, CSS and NodeJS. Those are your preferred tools of the trade. You’ve got at least 3 years of experience, almost all of which was ideally earned working at technology startups. You love the open web, open source and all things browser-based. Your sense of design aesthetic is sharp, minimal and cross-browser compatible. Of course, a single pixel being out of place makes you go mad. Your code is clean, well-documented and preferably already in multiple public Github repos. You’ll be building and managing our entire front-end; server-side business logic and analytics. This role is based in Bengaluru.
WordPress & PHP Developer (wp_dev)
You know PHP first and WordPress later. You’ve worked on implementing high-availability WordPress installations; written extensions, plugins and functions of your own; worked with marrying a world-class front-end design to an equally world-class backend that is part of a transactional system. You’re curious about pushing the boundaries of WordPress, whether through third party extensions or your own functions. You know there exists a delicate balance between adding more functionality to WordPress, and making it bloated and unresponsive. You’re of course trying to keep that balance – by eliminating that which is unnecessary or poorly designed. And yeah, you’ve got at least 2 years of experience. This role is based in Bengaluru.
