We’ve managed to do this by bringing together an experienced, talented and driven set of writers, editors, programmers, product managers and marketers.
It is to double down on this strategic differentiator that we’re creating a role for an HR leader. Reporting directly to the CEO, the HR leader will take charge of our existing talent and people processes and reshape them using added rigour into the foundation for our growth over the next 5 years.
The Ken, despite being a young and lean organization, has already started its journey around several modern HR philosophies and processes like OKRs, continuous performance management and total rewards. We’re also very proud of our unique culture.
The HR leader will help us institutionalize these by bringing in best-practices and execution skills. In order to do so, she or he will be empowered with the following responsibilities.
To manage these successfully, the HR Leader will need to interface with our functional leaders from editorial, training, product and marketing, along with our founders. The Ken is currently 30 strong and we have ambitious plans to grow our headcount significantly over the next year and beyond.
An ideal candidate will possess a post-graduate degree in HR from a premier institute and total professional experience of 3-6 years, including pre-degree work experience. We’re looking for candidates with well-rounded experience of having managed HR across the employee lifecycle. Having worked in ambitious and innovative startups will be an added advantage.
The HR leader will need to balance creative and innovative thinking with initiative and execution. We’re looking for someone with the vision to channel The Ken’s USP as a modern subscription-based media startup into lasting organizational advantages.
