About the role

Technology coverage remains the mainstay at The Ken. Since 2016, The Ken has been known for its consistently deep and analytical coverage of the most ambitious companies, significant trends and active investors in the internet, e-commerce and tech sectors. We are looking for a curious, enterprising reporter who will write on internet tech, e-commerce and startups.

The staff writer covering these beats will cover tech companies, large and complex e-commerce platforms and internet startups, at a time when the pandemic has accelerated consumer adoption and as a result, venture funding. Entire categories are moving online, whether it be in the B2B space through companies like Udaan; in the B2C space through vertical giants like Nykaa; or at the intersection of both, like with Meesho.

We are looking for driven and experienced reporters who will utilise and form deep connections in leading companies, venture capital firms, and wider ecosystems to source and tell powerful stories about where things are headed, and why. Reporters should have the ability to spot the fundamental similarities that define large platforms while being keen enough to know how each vertical has different customer behaviour dynamics.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have 2-3 years of experience covering technology and business, either as a reporter or as an analyst/researcher covering this space. Hands-on professionals from this field are welcome to apply as well.
