Good morning [%first_name |Dear Reader%],
If you scrolled through Twitter or LinkedIn over these past two weeks, chances are you came across plenty of videos, hot takes, and threads on the recent spate of electric vehicles catching fire in India.
There were the doomsday predictors, the industry defenders, the ones linking the fires to the onset of summer in India…
There was pushback, even some good old media bashing. “We EV fans accept issues and push companies to take better measures, does media even ask the same for ICE. Just shows you hypocrisy. Do not use some issues to boost your fossil propaganda,” the unofficial ‘Tesla Club’ of India tweeted.
And, like everything else on social media, the needle tilted in favour of the more dramatic voices.
And okay, drama is nice and all (I’m a fan of it myself). But what do the numbers say? And what does that mean?
