Two of Southeast Asia’s premier e-wallets—OVO and Boost—share a common origin story. The former is Indonesia’s payments unicorn, and the latter is one of Malaysia’s top three e-wallets. But the origin story is one that’s pretty uncommon by general startup standards, because they owe their early days to BCG Digital Ventures (BCGDV), the corporate investment and incubation arm of the US-based Boston Consulting Group.
