Frequent users of Gojek’s ride-hailing and delivery service would have noticed a change in the app sometime in April. This is when the first phase of Covid-19 lockdowns hit Indonesia’s capital Jakarta.
The popular motorcycle taxi-hailing option was no longer available as the city had temporarily banned motorcycles from taking passengers on the back seat.
But the obvious aside, Gojek had also tinkered with other features. In addition to the food delivery segment GoFood, it began pushing GoShop to the front, a versatile feature that lets you send a delivery driver to any shop in the city to make purchases or run errands on your behalf.
