Short and sweet. Well, the sweet bit depends, and we will get to that in a bit.

From the day we started The Ken, our promise has been — sharp, analytical, well told stories for the discerning reader. Almost 45 days into this journey; we are now doubling down on our promise. Starting today, The Ken will put out sharp, short stories explaining the annual results of a whole host of Indian startups. Of those, that matter. We’re calling it “By the Numbers”, please bookmark it. Far away from funding announcements, these stories will be a deep dive into the annual accounts. For every startup, we have picked out the numbers which matter to their success or point to the warts. We’ve carefully pre-reported on each of these companies to help you understand why they are important, who are they pitted against and what have been the big strategic decisions in these companies over the last one year.

Our data partner for this exercise is Tofler.

Why are we doing this? Well, we are doing it for you. So that as subscribers (free and paid), you can understand this ecosystem better than anyone else. Separate the noise from reality.

We’ve also deliberately limited our word count for these stories to 400 words. Get in, get out. Quick. Here’s our first two stories in this section:

Of course, these stories will be in addition to our week day stories.

Thanks for being a part of The Ken.
